APRA AMCOS, representing Australian songwriters, composers, and publishers, has based its US operations within the LA studio

Squeak E. Clean has restructured its Australian operations to connect Australia’s advertising industry with the new wave of homegrown composers and artists redefining the global soundscape.

The South Melbourne studio, led by executive producer Ceri Davies and award-winning sound designer Paul Le Couteur, is situated in the revitalised creative heart of Australian music, art, and culture. It gives Australian and New Zealand clients direct access to this blend of talent and creative energy, serving as the local anchor to a growing international network of artists and collaborators.

That creative bridge extends directly to Squeak E. Clean’s Los Angeles studio -- where Stevie Wonder recorded his iconic 'Songs in the Key of Life' and, more recently, where Squeak E. Clean oversaw the audio post production for Gucci’s acclaimed short film 'The Tiger'. The LA space has also become a thriving hub for Australian musicians abroad.

“I’ve been coming back and forth to LA to write and record for years and have loved watching what Elle and the Squeak team have built for artists in LA,” said recording artist Mallrat.

“It’s like a second home for writers and my friends. It’s special to have this resource for gatherings, writing, and community.”

APRA AMCOS, representing Australian songwriters, composers, and publishers, has based its U.S. operations within the studio, which has recently hosted sessions for members of INXS and emerging acts including Blusher, Konstantin, Chelsea Jade, Nick Ward, and Lisa Crawley.

“The APRA AMCOS-sponsored writing room has quickly become one of the most in-demand in LA for our members, often booked months in advance,” said Sam Cook, APRA AMCOS’ LA representative.

“It offers both emerging and world-class talent a place to track, write, and collaborate.”

Melbourne singer-songwriter Elle Graham -- also known as Woodes -- manages the LA studio and embodies the essence of the LA–AUS connection through the Melbourne–LA creative pipeline. Her dual perspective ensures that Australian agencies can tap into global creative trends while maintaining the authenticity and individuality that define their campaigns.

Together, the Melbourne and Los Angeles studios form a creative ecosystem where artistry and innovation collide, bridging continents, cultures, and campaigns. Squeak E. Clean continues to shape the future of sound for brands that want to make a lasting impact, at home and around the world.
