Above: still from ‘And We Shall Dance Again’
In ‘And We Shall Dance Again’, a new campaign film from Gucci, Kate Moss lip-syncs to Chris Isaak’s wildly romantic song, ‘Wicked Game’. Directed by Johan Renck with production from Reset, the short film is part of the ‘Primavera’ collection, signalling a rebirth and a renaissance, just like the transformative process of falling in love.
‘Primavera’ is the debut collection from the brand’s new creative director, Demna, and a move towards a darker, sexier Gucci reminiscent of the ‘90s Tom Ford era.
Wearing the same full-length sequinned gown she did when she made a return to the Gucci runway in February this year to close the Fall/Winter 2026 ‘Primavera’ show during Milan Fashion Week, Kate is an effortless picture of undone glamour.

A cast of characters awaits her in a moodily-lit room outfitted in dark woods and forest green fabrics. All wearing the latest Gucci collection, the stillness of bodies and unsure glances shift – characters start to come alive as the song unfolds, awakened by the sound. They begin to notice each other, pair off, fall in love.

Those familiar with Johan’s oeuvre may have spotted visual and tonal similarities between this film and one of his past works, the music video ‘Pass This On’ by The Knife where this certainly draws inspiration from, dialling up the louche allure to eleven.
‘And We Shall Dance Again’ is the latest in a series of films from the brand under Demna’s direction. The first, ‘The Tiger’, was a 30-minute psychedelic romp featuring a star-studded cast like no other: Demi Moore, Edward Norton, Ed Harris, Elliot Page, Keke Palmer, Alia Shawkat, Julianne Nicholson, Heather Lawless, Ronny Chieng, Kendall Jenner and Alex Consani. It was written and directed by MJZ’s Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn.
Jonathan Glazer-directed ‘Generation Gucci’ followed, taking a step towards a darker aesthetic, blending a soundtrack of vintage Italian pop and the nu-metal sound of Slipknot.
