Following two more Grand Prix wins on day three of Cannes Lions 2026, Puerto Rico and Peru are continuing to show up on the global stage.
So far, Puerto Rico has earned six Lions in total, thanks to three different projects from agencies BBDO Puerto Rico and De La Cruz Ogilvy. This includes 2 Grand Prix wins, 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes.
Meanwhile, Peruvian campaigns have been awarded 11 Lions overall, with three different winning projects coming from McCann Lima, Circus Grey and Fahrenheit DDB, earning two Grands Prix, two Golds, two Silvers and five Bronzes.
From Puerto Rico, Hyundai and BBDO Puerto Rico’s ‘Coquí Alarmed’ won the Grand Prix in Audio & Radio, while Uva App’s ‘Uva Uva Bombón’, created by de la Cruz Ogilvy, took the Grand Prix in Direct. The latter has also won two Silvers in the Social & Creator and Direct categories, as well as a Bronze in Entertainment for Music.
Speaking on the Audio & Radio Grand Prix winner, jury president Oriel Davis-Lyons, chief creative officer at Mother New York, highlighted the commercial power of local storytelling. "It's such a specific local idea and insight, but the power that it had was immediately clear. It was universally admired in the group immediately,” he said. “It made us think about our own category differently. It is a truly audio idea, but probably in a way that none of us would have expected coming into this process.
“In that sense,” he added, “it does redefine again what the category is... It pushes the limits of what's possible, and the impact it had on Hyundai's business was very real and very impressive."

The third Puerto Rican project to be awarded so far is ‘Glowing Relief’ for Alivia Health, created by De La Cruz Ogilvy in partnership with Ogilvy Health New York. The work won a Bronze in the Industry Craft category.
On the Peruvian side of things, the nation’s two Grands Prix came first in the Entertainment for Sport category, with ‘The Thousand Sponsors of Muni’ for Club Deportivo Municipal, created by McCann Lima. And then in Creative Data, with BCP’s project ‘SOS POS’, created by Circus Grey. The former also won a Bronze in PR and Design, while ‘SOS POS’ has picked up two Golds, in Digital Craft and Creative Data, and a Bronze in Direct.

Of the Grand Prix-winning Entertainment for Sport work, jury president Shannon Washington, CCO and managing partner at 11 Ounces, said, “It didn't stop at the jersey and it really highlighted a reality – one of the worst kept secrets in sport, which is how money is distributed.” She also praised the work’s depth, and the beauty of the shirt design. “I would wear that. Like, it's a really cool-looking kit, right?”
Peru’s only Silver Lions thus far have come from ‘Prime Time 0.7’, a campaign for Frecuencia Latina created by Fahrenheit DDB. The work earned two Silver Lions in the Media and Direct categories, as well as Bronzes in both Media and Direct.

It’s been a successful Cannes Lions for LATAM more widely, with nearly 100 Lions going to its nations’ creative teams already.
Of the 96 wins, Brazil is responsible for almost half, and other well-established creative hubs like Mexico and Argentina have contributed strongly to the total. So it’s encouraging for the health of the whole region to see potential creative underdogs, like Peru and Puerto Rico, punching well above their weight, both equalling the Grand Prix count (2) of a powerhouse like Brazil.
