In commemoration of its 15th anniversary, the Scissor Sisters' 'Invisible Light' music video has been restored to a stunning 4K resolution. Following their breakout work for El Guincho, this video marked CANADA's first international commission and cemented their reputation for pushing creative boundaries within the music video medium.

Inspired by cinematic masters like Luis Buñuel and David Lynch, the directors set out to create a "beautiful, terrifying film." The result is an extravagant piece of psycho-sexual surrealism and hypnotic imagery that has been celebrated for its masterful visual storytelling.

Described by Simon Penochet on It’s Nice That as a"haute couture construction, seamlessly executed, highly visual, gets straight to the point, and is played out without embellishment," the video commissioned by Dilly Gent for Polydor follows a young woman's psychological descent, using provocative imagery and dream sequences to explore her fantasies and fears.

The film's unsettling climax, featuring a contribution from Sir Ian McKellen, is a visual tour de force of shifting lights and vibrant colours, solidifying its place as a cinematic masterpiece within the music video genre.

The news of the 4K restoration premiered exclusively on EyeCandy.
