Dynamic Frame Production and director Jonas Ulrich's authentic feature debut about toxic love and self-discovery - told through the eyes of its protagonist Luana (Selma Kopp), starring Bartosz Bielenia

Dynamic Frame Production and director Jonas Ulrich  ('People on Saturday', Locarno Film Festival) presents his feature debut WOLVES – a radically authentic journey into the world of black metal, told as a coming-of-age drama between freedom, seduction and fanaticism. The film celebrated its world premiere as the only Swiss entry in the Feature Film Competition of the 21st Zurich Film Festival on September 28th.

At the heart of the story is 23-year-old Luana (Selma Kopp), who breaks away from her sheltered life and throws herself headlong into the scene and into the arms of charismatic singer Wiktor (Bartosz Bielenia, internationally acclaimed for his role in the Oscar-nominated 'Corpus Christi').

Between tour buses, rehearsal rooms and underground venues, a passionate yet toxic love unfolds, pulling Luana ever deeper into Wiktor’s contradictory world.

WOLVES tells this story resolutely from a female perspective: through Luana’s eyes we experience both the allure and the dark side of a male-dominated subculture. The film combines the raw energy of live concerts with intimate moments of profound vulnerability.

For the shoot, a real band 'WLVS' was formed, with lead actor Bartosz Bielenia as its frontman. The music was composed by Manuel Gagneux (Zeal & Ardor, Swiss Music Award 2025). Shot in real clubs, with actual musicians and a mix of professionals and non-professionals, the film achieves an exceptional level of authenticity. In doing so, WOLVES appeals both to metalheads, who will recognise their scene, and to film lovers, who will discover a universal drama about love, identity and empowerment.

Jonas Ulrich not only wrote the screenplay but also directed and edited the film himself– a true auteur debut bearing his unmistakable signature.

Produced by Dynamic Frame (Zurich), represented internationally by The Yellow Affair (Espoo/London), with international press handled by WOLF PR (Berlin), Jonas’s debut is both loud and poetic – a film that raises questions far beyond music itself: What does freedom mean? And when does it become dangerous?
