Dynamic Frame Signs OK Great for Switzerland

Directing duo, OK Great (Jakob Marky and Kasper Häggström), create work that balances human observation with joyful absurdity

Most directing duos talk about process. OK Great talk about friendship, usually while making fun of it.

Jakob Marky and Kasper Häggström met years ago and quickly recognised the same kind of stupidity hiding in serious situations. Neither grew up with brothers, so they became that for each other. Someone to endure the idiocy of the world with, while knowing they are part of it too. What began as friendship gradually settled into a directing partnership built on shared instincts and a shared sense of humour.

They joke that OK Great was not really a decision. The name appeared after cycling through dozens of options, Portmanteau, Esperanto, and plenty of others, until they simply had to choose one. OK Great worked because it can mean everything or nothing, excited, exhausted, or somewhere in between.

Their dynamic is easy, slightly chaotic, and grounded in humour. They rely on each other to spot what’s missing, whether that’s a detail, a beat, or the bigger picture. Together they create work that balances human observation with joyful absurdity.

For them, the best commercials hinge on something recognisable. “You’re tired. Wouldn’t it be good if you weren’t?” Jakob said. “That’s why humour works. It’s honest.”

On set, they rarely stand still for long. One starts, the other picks up when the energy drops. When facing agencies, they describe themselves not as good cop and bad cop, but as stupid cop and stupider cop. Somehow, it works.

Now represented in Switzerland by Dynamic Frame, they are stepping into a market that feels unexpectedly familiar. Precise, restrained, and very confident in its own logic. Kasper puts it simply. “We like odd geographies. If people are willing to laugh at themselves, we’ll get along fine. And if not, we’ll force them.”

“Filmmaking is playing,” Jakob said. “If you create an environment where it’s OK to be stupid, people relax.” Kasper agrees. “We take the work seriously. Just not ourselves.”
