On the eve of Game 3 of the World Series, Blue Jays fans - and one iconic Canadian brand - came together in Los Angeles to celebrate the breakout star of the postseason: Addison Barger.
Outside Dodger Stadium, a Sleep Country Canada branded truck rolled through the streets with a bold and cheeky billboard message for Addison: “Hey Barger, need a bed to sleep on tonight? Let us know and we'll deliver a mattress to you. No more couches. Just serious sleep.”
The creative, developed by Publicis Canada, was inspired by Addison’s now-legendary sleeping arrangement before Game 1, when he bunked on teammate Davis Schneider’s pull-out couch to make room for visiting family and friends. The next day, Addison made history with the first-ever pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history - blowing the game open and securing a win for the Jays.
“When your grand slam hero is sleeping on a pull-out couch, you go the distance. We took Sleep Country all the way to LA to make sure Addison had everything he needed for a proper night’s rest," said Vini Dalvi, chief creative officer at Publicis Canada.

"When we heard about Barger’s couch story, we just couldn’t sleep on it,” said Deb Conte, category marketing director at Sleep Country. “Quality sleep is key to performing your best—on and off the field. We’ve reached out to his agent to make sure he’s got the right setup at home, so he can always rest like a pro."
The billboard activation was a playful nod to Addison’s superstition-fueled decision to sleep on the same couch again the following night, and a reminder that even heroes need a good night’s sleep.
As the World Series continues, Addison’s story has become a symbol of team camaraderie, superstition, and the kind of magic that only October baseball can deliver.
