Paul Herrmann Captures RAYE's Creative World for Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet has released 'No One Shapes Time Alone', a film directed by Paul Herrmann and produced by Object & Animal, following RAYE in the weeks leading up to her opening night performance at the 60th Montreux Jazz Festival. Shot across three days in London - at Ronnie Scott's, a church, Alexandra Palace, and 100 Shoreditch - the film builds toward RAYE's sold out O2 show, threading the live performance footage into a portrait of what brought her there.

The film is less a conventional campaign and more a document of process - how an artist shapes their own time, and who shapes it with them. Herrmann and DOP Anna Franquesa-Solano follow RAYE through the places and people that form her creative world, with her mother, grandmother and sisters appearing alongside her as the film explores what craft, family and perseverance actually look like in practice. The Montreux performance itself - titled ‘This Stage May Contain Moments In Time’ - becomes the point everything builds toward, staged at the Stravinski Auditorium with a gospel choir and special guests.

The collaboration between RAYE and Audemars Piguet sits on a genuine shared ground: both built on long-term thinking and a resistance to chasing the moment. Herrmann finds the visual language for that in the quieter spaces between the performance - rehearsal rooms, backstage corridors, family gathered around a table - letting the film earn the stage rather than starting there.
