Jade Ang Jackman Turns a Real-Life Phone Theft into London Chase for Len Music Video

​The Corner Shop has teamed up with the talented filmmaker Jade Ang Jackman for the new music promo for ‘Pick Up The Phone’ from South London rapper Len. The stylish and slick new promo takes us on a fantastic journey through the streets of London in full black and white glory inspired by La Haine, while also featuring various collaborators throughout the track. The story is inspired by a real life experience Jade endured in which her phone was almost stolen.

“When I heard Pick Up the Phone, I knew Justin, the creative director and Len, wanted to do something more playful. I wanted to give the girl some agency back and came up with the idea of her stealing the phone back. London love story in the phone jacking capital.” said Jade Ang Jackman.

Jade and her DOP Dajiana Huang created the distinctive visual style by using drones and innovative places to rig the go-pros which adds to the frantic and kinetic energy of the music and matches with the themes of the lyrics and story.

“Whenever I work with an artist, the project is inherently collaborative as the film represents and centres around them. Len is a really daring artist and was happy to push himself in lots of different ways.” said Jade on working with Len.
