Facebook has extended its 'Find More Than What You’re Looking for' campaign beyond the screen by turning a prop from its latest film into a real-life Marketplace giveaway.
The campaign created with Droga5 NY celebrates the idea that a simple search on Facebook can lead to unexpected discoveries in the real world. It debuted earlier this month with launch film 'Summer Jobs,' directed by SMUGGLER's Mark Molloy and shot by Drew Daniels (Anora). The film follows Gracie, a young woman who works all summer to afford her dream truck on Facebook Marketplace. Targeted towards gen z, everything in the film is grounded in real user behaviour, down to the truck our hero longs for and ultimately buys–trucks are the demographic’s #1 most searched item on Marketplace.
Now, Facebook has turned the end of Gracie’s story into the start of someone else's by listing a truck just like Gracie’s back onto Marketplace for free as part of a larger activation series. Along with the keys, the winner will receive everything they need for their own dream summer adventure.
To build anticipation, Facebook teased the activation with a cryptic billboard along Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard directing people to the Marketplace listing. The giveaway also coincides with Facebook Marketplace's 10th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles, where the truck was brought on display for creators to experience first hand before sharing the contest with their audiences.

The contest is live now. To enter, users can reply to the truck listing with their dream summer road trip destination they’d love to go to if they won. And with two more vehicles to be dropped on Marketplace for users to find, Facebook is giving even more people the chance to turn their dream summer road trip into a reality.
