Actress Jess Impiazzi backs cheeky campaign from House of Oddities championing canine gut health

Independent creative and PR agency House of Oddities has created a unique poo-filled luxury pendant worth £9,500 for Butternut Box, Europe’s leading Fresh dog food brand.

The brand announced the launch of the ‘Poo(ch) Pendant’ – a £9,500 limited edition turd-shaped locket made from nine-carat gold and featuring a preserved poo sample professionally sealed inside each piece, freshly supplied by the recipient's pet – for dog owners who believe their pet’s good gut health is worth its weight in gold.

The initiative supports the launch of the Butternut Box TikTok shop, and aims to highlight the benefit of feeding fresh, highly digestible food to our dogs – with a healthy poo indicating proper digestion and nutrient absorption, key indicators of canine health.

Sachini Imbuldeniya, CEO and founder of House of Oddities, comments, “House of Oddities thrives on pushing creative boundaries. This campaign is a perfect example of our brave, bold, and delightfully unconventional thinking.

“We know some pet owners will think this is fabulous, while others will find it super-gross – but either way, it gets people talking. It’s the ultimate in statement jewellery and symbolises pet owners care for their dog’s health and wellbeing. And that’s exactly why our clients choose us – we bring a fresh perspective and will always push the limits to communicate a powerful and positive message”.

British actress Jess Impiazzi, who fronts the campaign and lives with lupus, an autoimmune condition often linked to digestive issues, says, “I’ve long believed in the importance of gut health – both for myself and my dog. Knowing that what I feed Buddy has a direct impact on his wellbeing influenced my decision when choosing a dog food, which, for us, is Butternut Box.

“This pendant might raise a few eyebrows, but I think it’s a brilliant keepsake, and a daily reminder of how small choices can have a big, positive impact. Keeping my dog healthy and happy is always on my mind – and now I’ve got a symbol of that health around my neck, too.”

Each bespoke pendant is handcrafted by a specialist jeweller. Every purchase also includes an all-encompassing white-glove concierge service – covering everything from the courier collection of the stool sample to final delivery of the custom-made pendant.

Butternut Box’s in-house vet, Dr Ciara Clarke, says, “When a dog’s poo looks good, it’s a strong sign that their digestive system is working as it should. While the pendant might be a bit tongue-in-cheek, it’s a brilliant way to get people talking about something that really matters and highlights an important message - gut health is essential to overall wellbeing - and yes, it’s something worth celebrating.”

The launch forms part of Butternut Box’s mission to make fresh, nutritious meals the norm for dogs across the UK. The Poo(ch) Pendant is being promoted via the brand’s digital platforms, with a very limited number available. To register for the waiting list, visit here
