Directed by Haya Waseem and produced by Object & Animal, the video follows a bride entering an arranged marriage

Ali Sethi has released the official music video for 'I Wait’ directed by Haya Waseem and produced by Object & Animal. Set against the rituals of a South Asian wedding, the video follows a bride entering an arranged marriage while visibly wrestling with the emotional weight of the life being chosen for her.

Shot on 65mm film, the video moves through the rituals of a South Asian wedding, from the bride being dressed and surrounded by family to the crowded ceremony unfolding around her. The bride appears emotionally removed from the people and rituals around her, allowing her discomfort with the marriage to surface beneath the celebration. The contrast between the elaborate ceremony and her quiet distress gives the film its central tension.

Where the song explores longing, hesitation, and emotional distance, the video responds with a visual identity built around the tension between ritual and doubt. Directed by Haya Waseem, the video uses the arranged marriage as both a cultural setting and an emotional framework. The ceremony explores the pressure of expectation and emotional restraint.

Produced by Object & Animal, ‘I Wait’ adds to the company’s growing roster of collaborations with original and distinctive artists.
