After two years of sold-out boat parties, Youngbloods NSW are switching it up this year with ‘Off Brief’ -- a night of zero guidelines, zero feedback, and incentivised tomfoolery.
There’s no doubt 2025 has been a big year across the industry. Pitches, restructures, redundancies -- and ChatGPT is after everyone’s jobs. So for one night only, Youngbloods is giving NSW permission to ignore the brief entirely.
And where else to host this circus of ad monkeys than a carousel. Fit with a dance floor, ‘Off Brief’ is where ideas go once they’ve been “killed” -- and the people behind them can finally come alive.
NSW joint co-chairs Ruby Tonkin and Jake Rowland, said, "We all know it's been a huge year for the industry, especially for the industry's youngest. This event is an opportunity to end 2025 with a bang -- in a way that's never been done before by Youngbloods NSW."
The celebration will be the pair's first social event since joining as co-chairs, where they have focused on recruitment for Youngbloods. The event will include celebrations for new hires such as committee members Amy Morrison and Laura Murphy, who joined earlier this year following their Cannes Young Lions win, and have since helped create the Gruen project ad 'Cut them Off'.
The ad was part of a competition between NSW and Victoria, hosted by the Gruen Project.
So finish up timesheets (or don’t), and join Youngbloods NSW to send off this chaotic year with a night off. Because frankly, we’ve all earned it -- tickets can be purchased here.
