Following its Super Bowl debut with the spectacular yet equally gross ‘Hair Ballad’, MANSCAPED and creative agency Quality Meats extended the marketing campaign by auctioning off a hairball (allegedly) collected from comedian, actor and podcaster, Stavros Halkias.
That’s right, following the Big Game ad directed by MJZ’sPerlorian Brothers, MANSCAPED and Stavros took to Instagram to reveal ‘Lil Stavvy’, giving fans a first look at the quirky-but-cute ball of hair on offer.
“We can neither confirm nor deny the source(s) of the hairs for the making of this hairball,” says Jamie Stark, group creative director at Quality Meats. “We are pretty sure there's 100% genuine human body hair in it including Stavros'. We like to think of it like a hot dog-styled hairball in that you don't exactly know all the sources of the hair meats it's made up of.”
Last weekend saw the auction come to a close on MANSCAPED’s eBay page, with 61 other bids losing out to the final winning offer of $510. As well as the bespectacled hairball, the lucky fan also won themselves a signed Lawn Mower® 5.0 Ultra trimmer.
Discussing how the collaboration came to be, Lucas Coyle, director of brand media and awareness at MANSCAPED, says, “We’re huge fans of Stavros. He does an incredible job of showing confidence in his body, his image, and talking openly about masculinity. He also just makes all of us laugh.
“We reached out because he felt like the perfect fit for a celebrity extension. Relatable, funny, approachable, but also able to deliver an authentic take on our loveable balls of hair that would bring more eyes to our Super Bowl creative. He’s been amazing to work with throughout the whole process.”

This sentiment is shared by the agency creatives at Quality Meats, particularly group creative director Clarissa Dale, who shares that Stavros’ podcasting ventures are often the soundtrack to her mornings. “It was very cool to get to collaborate with him on this fun, silly thing,” she says. “Production was fast and furious, but also really collaborative; we wrote him a sample script, let him riff and do his chaotic thing, and that’s definitely what we got in the end.”
This project and other surrounding elements to the ‘Hair Ballad’ Big Game campaign were designed to “push the subversiveness as much as possible,” Clarissa adds, “so auctioning off something as disgusting as Stavros’ hairball-son, made from his freshly shorn butt and back hairs, felt like the right thing to do.”
In a press statement for the auction, the comedian said, “I’ve done a lot of weird things in my career, but auctioning off my own hairball for charity is definitely a first. If it makes people laugh and helps a good cause, I’m always in.”
All proceeds from the auction are going to MANSCAPED’s long-time brand partner, the Testicular Cancer Society (TCS), supporting awareness, education and resources for men’s health. MANSCAPED has worked with the organisation for over five years, forging a partnership that Lucas describes as “a natural fit” for the pioneers of men’s groin grooming.

“We’re comfortable having the conversations a lot of brands still shy away from, especially when they can help share a lifesaving message,” he says. “We work year-round to help normalise conversations around testicular cancer and share the importance of early detection and regular self-checks.”
The brand has previously launched TCS editions of several of its products and brought the partnership to cultural events, like the Food City 500 with NASCAR driver Josh Bilicki. MANSCAPED also makes an annual $50,000 donation to support TCS’ efforts.
Now with the Lil Stavvy auction over, and the Super Bowl firmly in the rear view, MANSCAPED and Quality Meats can look ahead to the rest of 2026. But can we expect more famous hairballs going forward? “Maybe?” says Lucas. “Who knows what those little creatures are up to.”
However, with some new product launches set for this year, one thing is certain: the brand will continue to extend its new ‘Mancare Your Everywhere’ platform, completing its evolution from DTC disruptor to go-to grooming brand, “so that men everywhere,” Lucas adds, “know we’re the brand for all their grooming needs.”
