Royal Mail, in partnership with ITV, True North and the7stars, has launched its first ever ad-funded TV series, 'Be Your Own Boss'.
The five-part series offers practical business advice to small enterprises, from side hustlers to marketplace sellers. The first episode debuted on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV player Sunday, 19 October at 1.15pm.
Hosted by small business champion Holly Tucker MBE, founder of Holly & Co– which has a long running partnership with Royal Mail - and NotOnTheHighStreet, the series follows Holly as she brings her wealth of experience to creative founders who are at a crossroads with their business.
In each episode, Holly receives packages at home from companies that need her help. After giving her initial assessment, Holly visits each of the founders at their workplaces, be it kitchen table or workshop, to offer hands-on guidance across branding, marketing and growth.
For Royal Mail, the series is an opportunity to show how it supports small businesses across the UK, with specially created idents to demonstrate its 'Your Parcels, Your Wayservices', giving founders and creators more time to focus on growing their ventures. Supernova, the7stars in-house studio, created the idents using footage captured by True North during the filming.
Vicky Crouch-Marlow, joint head of planning at the7stars, said, “This has been a brilliant collaboration for Royal Mail’s first ad-funded programme. At its heart, Be Your Own Boss shines a spotlight on the creativity and resilience of people striving to make their businesses succeed while showing how Royal Mail plays a trusted role in their journey.”
Emma Shaw, head of account marketing at Royal Mail, commented, “Royal Mail is hugely proud of the role we play in supporting small businesses, from providing them with reliable and convenient delivery services to our dedicated Small Business Hub and apprenticeship funding. We’re excited to help showcase some of the amazing businesses around the UK through our support of Be Your Own Boss on ITV.”
