Radio LBB: Thomas Schmid's Rebellion Playlist

I was listening to Flea’s latest single, aptly named 'A Plea', partly 'cause I heard great things, but I always wanted to like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and I’m actively trying to find the good in things I historically have disliked.

There’s a line in his plea to his listeners in which he asks everyone to “find the God in everyone.” And it got me thinking about the idea of love and grace through pain, and about the act of love in times of struggle and strife as a rebellious act. I’m a huge reggae-head, so that just got me in the gut.

That unlocked an idea for this playlist, I absolutely love musicians or art movements that rebel in some way. Those that take enormous pain and turn it into their music through joy, or joy and pain in equal balance (this applies to so many things in my life).

Anyhow, that resonates with how my ticker runs. I have a dormant sadness in me that I balance with a joyful take on the world. So yeah! Enjoy!
