He returns to media agencies - and reunites with former colleague Daniel Klug - after a five year stint at the social platform, LBB's Brittney Rigby reports

Omnicom has appointed Andrew Cambridge -- formerly TikTok's AUNZ head of agency -- as CEO of Omnicom Media Digital across Australia and New Zealand.

He left his previous role in October after five years at TikTok, and before that held head of digital roles at IPG's Initiative, now part of the Omnicom stable following the acquisition of its rival to create the world's largest holding company.

"With the acquisition of IPG Mediabrands, the formation of Omnicom Oceania, and the powerful commerce capability in Flywheel, I'm already feeling the remarkable momentum," Andrew wrote on LinkedIn.

"Under the leadership of Kristiaan Kroon [Omnicom Media Australia CEO] and Nikki Grafton [New Zealand CEO], representing incredible brands that lead in digital capability, commerce, cloud, and CX, the opportunity into 2026 feels truly limitless."

He spent almost six years at Nine in various senior roles, and before that was part of Myspace's local team. In his new role, Andrew reunites with his former TikTok colleague, Daniel Klug. In October, LBB revealed Daniel had been hired as Omnicom Oceania's director of new media across the holdco's portfolio of brands. He and Omnicom Oceania CEO Nick Garrett previously worked together at Clemenger.

Earlier this month, Kristiaan Kroon was confirmed CEO of Omnicom Media Australia, while Nikki Grafton stepped into the top job in New Zealand earlier this year. Mark Jarratt became chief operating officer (Laura Nice stepped into the PHD CEO role to replace him, leaving her former co-CEO Sian Whitnall to run OMD solo).

In response to the Omnicom and IPG merger, IPG Mediabrands APAC CEO Leigh Terry and IPG Mediabrands Australia CEO Mark Coad exited the business, along with Magna MD Lucy Formosa Morgan.

The region’s six media agency brands will continue to operate independently: OMD, PHD, UM, Initiative, Hearts & Science, Mediahub, and, globally, Axciom.

Globally, Omnicom has sunset creative agency brands DDB, FCB, and MullenLowe. In Australia, DDB will be folded into Clemenger BBDO, run by DDB's local bosses and new Clemenger co-CEOs Sheryl Marjoram and Mike Napolitano. Lee Leggett steps into an Omnicom Oceania role as chief customer officer.

In New Zealand, DDB and FCB will merge to create McCann New Zealand, run by Priya Patel and Paul Wilson. In Wellington, Clemenger and FCB will be merged to become McCann Wellington, operating as part of McCann Group NZ. Local leadership for McCann Wellington will be announced soon.

In September, Omnicom Oceania boss Nick told LBB his job -- a first-of-its-kind in a significant market; Omnicom is using the Omnicom Oceania structure as a test and could adapt it elsewhere -- is to turn a "disjointed jigsaw puzzle" into a "masterpiece."

“My job here, big picture, is to redesign the model and transform us to be ready for the next 10 years," he said.
