‘LBB Presents’ is a new series dedicated to understanding the personality of the industry’s most exciting creative companies. Each showcases the founders, leaders and key players in a business as they introduce the best work they do and explore how they ensure that work is world-leading. A collection of interviews asks these figures to reflect on the values, individuals and unique ways of working that result in creative excellence.
To launch the series, the LBB team met with the RASCAL team: executive creative director / partner Andrew “Barnsley” Wood, managing director Gareth Brannan, director of production / executive producer Matthew Towell, and executive producer Stacia Akaba – leaders who see the four-year-old creative studio from every angle between them.
In the five minute video the team unpack the work that they’re most proud of, including projects for Formula E and Shelter, the makeup of the company, its culture, client base and, most importantly, who the biggest rascal in the company is.
In the video, Matthew gives a flavour of how RASCAL’s name reflects its approach. "The term ‘rascal’ makes you think [we’re] a bit sort of cheeky, gonna get away with some stuff,” says Matthew. “But the professionalism behind the 'rascal' is what's key… but we're gonna do it with a smile on our face."
"We're trying to create a culture here,” says Barnsley. “That's the game... We'd like people to know what our culture's about, what we do, how we do it differently, how we're perceived outside and how we treat our staff."
That’s exactly what ‘LBB Presents’ wants to do. To find out the answers, watch the full episode below.
