Award-winning Australian production company, Revolver, has announced the signing of Danish director Bine Bach for representation in the region.
Having helmed a portfolio of eye-catching work for clients including Aldi, Uber Eats, Old Spice, and Klarna, Bine brings a "delightfully left-of-centre" approach to comedy and craft to Revolver.
MD Michael Ritchie told LBB Bine brings a unique perspective to the Revolver roster, adding the signing was "never a matter of if, it was always when".
"Beyond being an excellent person, her distinctly northern European lens on our world is truly unique and being so, translates into work that will be indelibly etched into our screens," Michael said.
“A reel like Bine's reminds me of just how unique our business is. Such wit, punch, and artfulness from the short form that Bine understands so well and so early in her career.
"Amongst many other influences, I have no doubt much of this stems from the time she worked at Wieden + Kennedy New York as a creative.
"If your work is out there and you get the strategy behind it, it can only make for great outcomes.”
A newcomer to the local market, Bine told LBB the challenge of embarking into the unknown is exciting.
"I know [nearly] nothing about the Australian market," Bine said.
"I saw the recent Telstra commercial with Steve Buscemi being an alien overlord. I loved that one -- and also hated it, because I recently did a shoot with a similar production design that came out after and now everyone thinks I copied them.
"But that's the kind of 'Oh man, I sincerely wish I'd done that' projects I would love to do. I'll get Revolver on the case. Michael/Pip, you know what to do."
Revolver partner and EP Pip Smart added the prodco "can't wait" for Australians to see more of Bine.
"We’ve been watching Bine work across the US, UK, and Europe for a few years now," Pip said.
"We feel like now is the right time to bring her irrepressible energy and curious eye to our market. Visual style and comedy in equal measure are always a fine line to tread, and she does this so effortlessly."
