ARC Appoints Chief Operating Officer of Film Division, Dave Hollingsworth

Post and VFX executive Dave Hollingsworth has joined Sydney independent post-house ARC Film to lead day-to-day management and operations, capping a period of sustained growth for the company.

Dave Hollingsworth takes over as as chief operating officer of the company's film division, bringing decades of executive-level experience across post, VFX, and colour to the studio.

Dave joins ARC after a career spanning Australia and three international markets. He spent nine years at Park Road Post Production in New Zealand as senior colourist and head of picture, before taking on senior leadership roles at studios in LA and Vancouver, and then back in Sydney -- most recently as executive director at Spectrum Films.

In his new role, Dave takes on full day-to-day management and operations of ARC Film. He arrives with a colourist's eye for the finished picture and a studio leader's understanding of what it takes to get there -- the pipeline, the scheduling, and the crew around it.

ARC managing director Joseph Perkins said the appointment marks the next stage of a deliberate build-out of the company's longform business.

"Our longform arm has been growing steadily over recent years -- from bringing in Jay Hawkins and his production supervision and post-vis team 18 months ago, to Dave now taking the reins and leading the company forwards," Joseph said.

"We're genuinely thrilled to have him here as we push into this next phase.”

For Dave, the move is about the environment ARC has built around its filmmakers.

ARC Film recently completed full picture post and VFX on Dacre Montgomery's debut feature 'The Engagement' (Good Thing Productions), VFX on David Michôd's 'Christy' (Black Bear), and editorial and VFX on all episodes of Steph Green's upcoming series 'The Good Daughter' (Made Up Stories).

The studio also provided full VFX production supervision and management on Jennifer Peedom's upcoming Apple Original feature 'Tenzing' (See-Saw Films), completing more than 200 of the film's visual effects shots with Jay's in-house team.
