TurboTax is returning to the Super Bowl for the 13th year running with a comedic ad created by R/GA and starring Oscar-winning dramatic actor, Adrien Brody.
Directed by MJZ’s Craig Gillespie, the Big Game spot will be centred around what Adrien does best: pure drama. The insight is that tax season can be a very stressful and emotional time; the perfect basis for another inspired performance by the two-time Academy Award winner.
However, despite being eager to take on the emotional agony of tax season in this performance, the spot reveals that Intuit’s tax software brand takes all the hair-pulling, scream-inducing tension out of the process. The TurboTax experts make it all too easy. They don’t do drama. They just do your taxes. Much to the actor’s dismay.
To tease the upcoming spot, TurboTax has launched a 15-second film, which shows Adrien in his trailer, trying to get into character as ‘The Expert’ – repeatedly rehearsing, with melodramatic intensity and evolving accents, the line, ‘I can handle that for you’.
Additionally, to help promote the narrative and drive excitement for the spot, wild postings that introduce Adrien as ‘The Expert’ are rolling out in New York City and LA from today.
The brand's film for Super Bowl LIX last year was directed by Traktor, via Stink Films, and featured actor and writer, Issa Rae.

The full 45-second ad for Super Bowl LX will air just before halftime on February 8th, following a 30-second teaser pre-game.
A two-minute extended cut will also run across the brand’s owned digital channels, its retail locations, and in cinemas nationwide.
Keep up with everything Super Bowl LX here.
