Untold Studios has appointed Adrianna 'AJ' Cohen as president of film and episodic VFX, marking a significant next step in the continued growth of the independent global creative studio.
The appointment comes as Untold’s film and episodic division builds strong momentum across major international productions, with recent and upcoming work including Remarkably Bright Creatures, Alien: Earth (Emmy nominated) and Sonic The Hedgehog 4.
Adrianna will lead Untold’s film and episodic VFX business globally, working across the studio’s network in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London and Mumbai. Her appointment reflects Untold’s commitment to scaling a world-class film and episodic partner for studios, streamers, directors, filmmakers and VFX supervisors - independent, creatively led, globally connected and powered by next-generation technology.
Untold Studios has built its reputation by fusing human artistry with technology to deliver ambitious creative work at speed and scale. Its film and episodic team has grown rapidly, supporting major productions through a globally integrated model that brings together senior creative leadership, exceptional artists and a cloud-native pipeline designed for modern production.
With a deep understanding of the global entertainment landscape, Adrianna brings a proven track record from her leadership tenures at Blue Sky Studios, Fox Animation, Mikros Animation, and McKinsey & Company. As president of film and episodic VFX, she will oversee Untold's strategy, operations, and creative production. She is tasked with expanding global client relationships, fortifying operational frameworks, and driving growth across the international network.
Darren O’Kelly, CEO and co-founder of Untold Studios, said, “AJ’s appointment is a major statement of ambition for Untold. Our Film & Episodic team has already delivered extraordinary work across some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the market. We now have an opportunity to build on that momentum and create something genuinely distinctive for directors, filmmakers, studios, streamers and VFX supervisors.
“We are an independent studio, powered by artistry and fuelled by next-generation technology. That combination allows us to be creatively ambitious, deeply collaborative and incredibly agile. AJ brings the leadership, experience and energy to help us scale globally, while protecting the creative culture that makes Untold special.”
AJ Cohen, president of film and episodic VFX at Untold Studios, said, “Untold has built something rare - a truly global studio with the spirit, speed and creative intimacy of an independent. The work is ambitious, the talent is exceptional, and the technology is there to unlock better creative outcomes.
“What excites me is the opportunity to build on the success already achieved by the Film & Episodic team and help shape the next chapter. Filmmakers and VFX supervisors are looking for partners who can bring curated teams, world-class craft, flexibility, transparency and trust. Untold is incredibly well positioned to deliver that.”
The appointment follows a period of significant expansion for Untold Studios, including the launch of its Toronto studio and the continued growth of its film and episodic team across North America, the UK and India.
Adrianna joins a senior film and episodic leadership team that includes Christopher Gray, Luke Groves, Aaron Weintraub, Sara Bennett, Chris Ritvo and Pete Jopling, working together across Untold’s global network.
