The UK's leading LGBTQIA+ advertising advocacy organisation is recruiting its next volunteer CEO to lead its next chapter

Outvertising, the advertising industry's volunteer-run LGBTQIA+ advocacy group, today announces it is recruiting a new chief executive officer, as current CEO Chris Dunne's three-year term comes to an end later this year.

During Chris' tenure, Outvertising has strengthened its position as the UK's leading voice for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in advertising and marketing. Major milestones have included the launch of the Outvertising Advocacy Playbook, the expansion of its industry-leading mentoring programme, establishing Outvertising Live as one of the sector's leading events, and significantly raising the organisation's visibility.

The organisation is seeking an experienced leader from the advertising, marketing or media industry to guide Outvertising through its next phase of growth, building on significant traction across advocacy, community engagement and industry influence.

Chris said, "It's been one of the highlights of my career to lead this incredible team of volunteers, particularly during a time of profound challenge for LGBTQIA+ communities. I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved together and the stable, more visible organisation I’m leaving behind.”

“With solid foundations now in place, it's an exciting time to join Outvertising. I'm looking forward to handing over to a leader who shares our passion for change and can build on the progress we’ve made as we continue driving LGBTQIA+ representation and inclusion across UK advertising and marketing."

"The role of CEO of Outvertising is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to stretch their leadership, build their profile and make a meaningful difference to LGBTQIA+ people at an important moment for our industry and community.”

Mark Runacus MBE, Outvertising’s non-executive chair added, “It’s been a successful three years for Outvertising under Chris’ leadership, particularly at a time when organisations championing LGBTQIA+ inclusion have faced increasing headwinds. His dedication has helped put LGBTQIA+ equity firmly back on the advertising industry’s agenda and leaves us with a stronger organisation than ever before.

“Our next CEO will inherit real momentum, but also a very different landscape. Advertising and marketing are undergoing profound change, while many brands and employers are becoming more cautious about demonstrating visible support for LGBTQIA+ communities.  Advertising’s next chapter will be different. Our next CEO has the opportunity to help ensure it is more inclusive, more accountable and more creative than ever before – and that everyone sees themselves reflected in the work our industry creates.”

The voluntary CEO role is a two-year appointment, requiring around one day’s work a week. It offers senior leaders the opportunity to lead one of the advertising industry's most influential inclusion organisations while helping shape the future of LGBTQIA+ representation across the sector.

Applications are now open. Full details of the role and application process can be found at www.outvertising.org/join-our-team
