Native Music has welcomed fresh talent into its team, bringing Ethan Odle on as associate music supervisor.
Prior, Ethan produced a number of the BBC’s Radio 1 and 1Xtra specialist shows. While he was assistant producer on Clara Amfo’s Future Sounds, the station platformed emerging artists across a multitude of genres, including Master Peace and Rachel Chinouriri, and interviewed musical icons such as Alicia Keys and Peggy Gou. Over at DJ Target’s New Music show on 1Xtra, Ethan helped spotlight the best Black British music, collaborating with the likes of Nia Archives, FLO, Pa Salieu and Nines.
In addition, Ethan runs the online publication Fourth Floor, which champions promising creatives by providing a place where young writers can be published, offering DJs the opportunity to post their mixes on its SoundCloud, and hosting events for DJs to perform at.
Ethan’s radio experience will now be leveraged at Native Music, where he’ll be leading on new releases and music trends. He’ll also be contributing to music supervision on all projects, undertaking creative music searches and rights research, liaising with labels and publishers, and collaborating with composers on bespoke projects.
Ethan Odle commented, “After working my way up across BBC’s radio networks, I am excited to enter a completely different side to the music industry and challenge myself to produce the high level quality content that Native has always been known for. The team are so great and supportive, for me there is not a better place to develop my skills and become a fully qualified music supervisor. I have always had an innate connection with music and I’m looking forward to creatively utilising my knowledge and bringing a new perspective to our work.”
Managing director and music supervisor, Dan Neale, added, “When I first met Ethan I was struck by his passion for music supervision, as well as his knowledge of emerging artists. Most of all, I was impressed by his character, his clear instinct for music searches and his pro-active approach. Ethan is exactly the kind of team member we were looking for and we are all delighted to have him join us.”
