After nearly a decade away, one of McDonald’s most iconic cultural moments—MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s—has officially returned. The beloved promotion has been reimagined for today’s audiences, combining the nostalgia that long time fans cherish with a refreshed, modern experience designed to excite a new generation of players.

Developed in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy New York, the campaign introduces a new creative platform, 'Get Your Bag,' a bold call to action inspired by gen z’s 'chase-the-bag' mindset. The idea celebrates the dual thrill of MONOPOLY at McDonald’s: enjoying the food fans love while having the chance to win incredible prizes—including cash. The refreshed campaign brings this energy to life across every touchpoint, from film and packaging to digital, social, and in-restaurant experiences.

The idea platform developed in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy New York, 'Get Your Bag,' is an overt call to action that taps into gen z's 'get your money by any means necessary' attitude. The dual meaning? The double duty that everyone loves about Monopoly at McDonald’s: getting the food you love with the potential to walk away with amazing prizes, even and cold, hard cash. This language is evident in all aspects of work, from television to signage to the packaging of the food itself.

Highlights of the campaign include:

  • A film set in a bespoke Monopoly world, blending practical sets, unique animation and humour, directed by Dan Streit.
  • Mr. Monopoly reimagined as a campy, self-aware emcee, running wild across McDonald’s channels and treating them like his personal notes app.
  • Massive media rollout across linear and digital video, social, influencers, packaging, and even Times Square.
  • A cultural call to action—Get Your Bag—playing off both winning prizes and getting the McDonald’s food fans love.
  • Influencers and celebs like Heidi Montag, Porsha Williams, and Dylan Efron are tapping into the 'chasing the bag' energy on social.
