ESB has launched its new advertising campaign, ‘For future us’, to highlight the scale of investment ESB is making to deliver a clean energy future for Ireland.
Created in partnership with Publicis Dublin and produced by Piranha Bar, the animated story centres on the story of 12-year-old Grace, who feels a little alone in her climate concerns, when she comes upon an unlikely solar-powered friend, Sol. Through their journey of discovery, the campaign reflects the sense of connection around sustainability, and the intrinsic role Sol, and ESB, plays in Ireland's energy transition.
The creative platform underpins ESB’s ambition to address Ireland’s toughest energy challenges. While some of these benefits are already visible, for others the full return on this investment may not be seen in our lifetime, but the work being done today is not only for us, but for future us.
Launched on 22nd of September, the campaign is running across TV, outdoor, cinema and digital channels, with Dentsu Ireland leading the media strategy.
Commenting on the new ESB brand campaign, Lisa Browne, ESB head of marketing said,
“ESB will be 100 years old in 1927. It is one of the best known, most trusted brands in Ireland. We understand consumers and stakeholders are concerned about the future. They are interested in knowing the changes that are being made to provide a secure clean energy future. At the same time, we are cognisant at the level of communication messages presented to consumers every day and the difficulty to recall messages. We are hoping that our new campaign will be distinctive, memorable and evoke an emotional connection with our ESB brand for consumers to continue to trust ESB to invest in innovative projects of scale for the future”.

Edel McCabe, business director, Publicis said, “We worked in collaboration with ESB to develop this new platform, building on ESB’s heritage and demonstrating ESB leadership when it comes to innovation and transformation of Ireland’s energy system”.
Peter Dobbyn, creative director, Publicis said, “As the lyrics say, “Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow.” This is what the new ESB platform is all about. So, when launching ‘For future us’, we wanted to create something that would not only resonate with our generation but reassure the next generation too.”
The film is set to a reimagined version of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Don’t Stop’, composed by Brian Crosby and performed by Dublin based singer Lisa Lambe. The track and lyrics capture the optimism of the story and the new ESB ‘For future us’ platform.
