On Thursday 2nd October, the social media agency, Coolr, will launch the fourth year of its student programme, Coolrversity. Running from October 2025 through April 2026, the initiative will welcome more than 30 students from the University of Bedfordshire and Ravensbourne University London to immerse themselves in the fast-paced world of a social media agency.
Kicking off with a launch day at Coolr HQ, where students will get to meet their agency leaders, the cohort will dive straight into typical agency life with interactive sessions and regular tasks and challenges to overcome. Following last year’s success, where 40 young creatives partnered with Coolr client, Tango, to respond to a live brief, this year’s students will be tasked with a new challenge. Working in teams, they will develop and pitch back their ideas over the following four weeks and bring their theory to life.
From November, students will begin a mentorship scheme with Coolr experts, before taking part in a series of workshops between January and March covering skills such as editing and content production. The programme culminates in April 2026, when a select group of students will be offered paid placements at Coolr.
Since its founding in 2021, Coolr has welcomed over 100 students through its doors, supporting their early careers and professional development. With social media being
an industry that thrives on the creativity and perspective of young people, Coolrversity aims to provide a vital platform for students to gain hands-on exposure, personalised guidance from mentors and expert insight to enhance their skills, all of which offer invaluable experience for their future careers. The programme is co-founded by Ben Jones, director of creative studios, and Mailie Lee, head of resource at Coolr.
Coolrversity co-founder, Ben Jones, director of creative studios at Coolr, said, “Coolrversity is the opportunity I wish I had when I was a student, the chance to get hands-on agency experience and mentorship from those doing the job. We’re always blown away by the passion and creative flair of the students and we can’t wait to see how this year’s group tackle the live brief and what they’ll create together”.
Kelli Watson, senior lecturer film production, University of Bedfordshire, commented, “Coolrversity offers our students such a wonderful experience. The students get real world experience working with client briefs in a professional environment. They also benefit from insight into the career possibilities available to them in the changing media landscape. The team at Coolr are amazing role models for our students, and we are very grateful for the opportunities that they give us and our students”.
Gurinder Hatchard, course leader, Ravensbourne University London, added, "Coolrversity is a brilliant chance for our students to learn from industry professionals and get a hands-on, practical experience of life at a fast-paced social-first agency. Students are always so inspired by everyone they meet at Coolr and throw themselves into the opportunity!".
