Producer Jamie Hughes has taken up official residence at Electric Theatre Collective, following a four month freelance stint at the award-winning studio. During his brief period at Electric, Jamie led some of the studio’s most ambitious VFX projects, including Netflix’s 'What Next?', directed by Show Yanagisawa.
Jamie began his career as a runner. Starting out at MPC, he worked his way up to producer, a role he held long after the studio merged with The Mill in 2022. During this time, he worked on campaigns with leading directorial talent including thirtytwo, The Sacred Egg and Vedran Rupic, gaining his first producer credit with the latter on a piggy bank campaign for Confused.com, “Seeing the first advert I ever produced on TV was a tough one to top.”
Asked what he was looking forward to about his new role, Jamie said, “More of the same. Electric produces some of the best work coming out of the industry, and I’m chuffed to be a part of it.”
Head of production, Matt Williams, added, “Jamie brought so much to the studio in 2025. Talent, an innate calmness under pressure – and some blinding karaoke renditions at the production night out. He’s exactly the energy we thrive off in the studio and I couldn’t be happier to welcome him on a more permanent basis.”
In his own words…
Jamie> I’ve long admired the work that comes out of Electric. They continue to work with the best clients, agencies, production companies and directors in the business – and their creative team is stellar. Why not be a part of it?
Jamie> Got to say The Owl & Pussycat, fresh after some footie at the Powerleague.
Jamie> It would have to be one of my projects for Eurostar getting nominated for an animation award at The British Arrows. That was a pretty amazing feeling.
Jamie> Something to do with skiing. Get a nice tan on the mountain and shred the slopes.
Jamie> Let’s not go there, you’d have to try pretty hard to get the mic off me once I start.
