Grey Canada has launched 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' inspired Cerulean Section at the Salvation Army Thrift Store's Leslieville location. A curated, limited-time collection of pre-loved cerulean apparel. Available now. While it lasts.
The idea is rooted in the original film's most iconic two minutes. Miranda Priestly explains how a colour travels from a designer's vision to a luxury runway to a department store to a clearance bin. It's one of cinema's sharpest takes on how fashion actually moves through culture.
The Cerulean Section makes that journey literal. The rack at 20 Leslie Street is where cerulean ends up. And that's the point.
"The cerulean monologue traces an idea from a designer's vision all the way to a thrift rack," said Fernando Hernandez, executive creative director at Grey Canada. "We just made that journey real. The Salvation Army Thrift Store is where Cerulean lives now."
The activation is timed to the sequel's release, but it's not just a marketing moment. Every purchase funds Salvation Army programs: food banks, shelter and housing support, addiction rehabilitation, and emergency disaster relief. The store is also calling for donations in cerulean or any colour.
"The Cerulean Section is a creative way to show how thrift shopping can be stylish, sustainable, affordable, and meaningful," said Lindsay Robinson, national marketing and communications director for The Salvation Army Thrift Store.
The Leslieville location is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Donations accepted daily. More locations at thriftstore.ca.
