A setting perfect for hiking, cottage life and, as it turns out, a dairy-themed cooking show. With over one million views and counting, Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO), in partnership with Lifelong Crush, Starcom, Middle Child, and Hype, have just dropped three new episodes of the hit series Milk Masters, only this time, joining Ontario chefs in the great outdoors.
“We’ve had two very successful seasons of Milk Masters,” said Kimberly Romany, director of marketing strategy at DFO. “So, this new season felt like a great opportunity to take the series further, figuratively and literally.”
The latest season features popular Ontario chefs, Dwight Smith and Matt Basile, who cook a range of appetizing dairy-based dishes, from Apple French Toast to Creamy Lemon Pasta, but with a twist—they’re cooking everything outside over an open firepit.
“It’s a natural next step for the series,” said Derek Blais, CCO at Lifelong Crush, the agency behind creative. “In previous seasons, we’ve shown the quality and taste of local dairy. This new direction brings that to life in a fresh way, connecting the goodness of Ontario dairy with the beauty and spirit of Ontario itself. It’s irreplaceable, because if you can cook with it over an open fire, you can cook with it anywhere.”
Matt and Dwight both showed off their culinary expertise by cooking mouth-watering dairy-forward dishes away from the comfort of a traditional, fully stocked kitchen.
“Each chef’s skills were put to the test in multiple ways,” added Raman Battu, marketing manager at DFO. “In addition to the outdoor aspect, each episode features a unique time challenge, pushing the chefs to prepare their dish quickly. The world is moving faster than ever. So, it’s important to show Ontarians how easy and delicious it is to cook with milk and dairy, even if you don’t have a lot of time.”
Each five-minute episode takes viewers through the journey of crafting a delicious dairy-inspired recipe, from first ingredient to final bite.
