Creative Outpost is an independent post-production studio specialising in VFX, grading and audio. Here, its colourists catch up with director Henrik Sundgren to discuss snacks, collaborations and must see films for aspiring filmmakers.

Henrik> Twiglets, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Henrik> We wanted to find a sweet spot between the material on Earth and the outer space stuff.
Henrik> For the opening part on Earth, we wanted to find something contemporary, ending up with shooting with modern anamorphic lenses. For the space stuff, we looked at modern sci-fi that has a timeless feel, like Guardians of the Galaxy.
Henrik> It was a matter of adapting to the animated sequences. We had very little opportunity to do any changes in 3D due to time constraints, so we had to be very creative within the grade in making the different parts feel like they belong in the same film.
Henrik> Haha. I would say probably action, based on the fact that there are very few Rom Coms around these days.
Henrik> I really like the images of the man with his yellow instrument being an unappreciated outcast in this world, and then the ascent into outer space.
Henrik> The Tin Drum
