Bauer Media UK has launched a training scheme designed to nurture emerging talent in the creative industries. The course is part of Bauer’s ongoing commitment to making careers in the media industry accessible to everyone regardless of background, fostering equality and embracing diversity.
‘Project London: Media Foundations’ is a six-week programme, funded by the UK Government and Mayor of London, providing participants with hands-on experience behind the scenes of some of the UK’s biggest media brands, including KISS, Absolute Radio, Magic Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, Hits Radio, Grazia and heat.
Developed by Bauer Academy, Bauer Media’s award-winning inhouse training provider, in collaboration with industry professionals and leading academics, the programme teaches participants essential skills in multimedia production, content creation and multiplatform storytelling. The course combines practical workshops, employability support and industry networking opportunities, preparing participants for careers across the creative sector.
The programme is free for eligible participants aged 19+ living in London with the right to work in the UK. It is open to freelancers, students, career changers and professionals seeking to transition into creative media roles.
At the end of the programme, participants will present a creative project or portfolio to tutors and industry employers, receiving constructive feedback to support their next career steps.
Simon Myciunka, CEO, Bauer Media Audio UK, said, “Bauer Media has always believed in the power of creativity to inspire and connect. Through this programme, we’re opening doors for those who want a career in media and helping build a more inclusive creative industry.”
Courtnay McLeod, managing director, Bauer Academy, added, “Project London is designed to make the media industry accessible to everyone. Our aim is to give participants the confidence, skills, and industry exposure to launch their careers. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds, and our recent official recognition as a Disability Confident Committed Employer highlights our commitment to supporting neurodiverse and disabled talent. Bauer is committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the audiences we serve.”
