Last year, Allen & Gerritsen (A&G) turned its holiday greeting card into a cause for good with 'Amperspam,' a made-from-scratch font its creative team handcrafted with, you guessed it - spam. The downloadable font was created to raise money and awareness for those facing food scarcity in its communities, with all proceeds going to local food banks Greater Boston Food Bank and Philabundace.
This year, A&G is determined to go bigger, bolder, and… meatier? with the release of Amperspam 2.0.

“Last year’s Amperspam resulted in over a thousand dollars from downloads that we were able to give directly to our local communities,” said Andrew Graff, CEO of A&G. “This year, given the climate of food scarcity, we were determined to do more. The ampersand in A&G means a lot of different things for our agency - most importantly, all we can do together - but in this case, it stands for Action & Goodness. We want to make a difference by spamming people’s inboxes for good.”
Amperspam 2.0 emails were delivered to inboxes on January 12, introducing three new fonts in addition to last year's: Amperspam Grilled Bold, Amperspam Nibbled Neue, and Amperspam Out The Can. A&G also designed fresh merch, called the Amperspam Collection. The meat-inspired swag features T-shirts that say “This Is My Meat Shirt,” socks, hats, sticker packs, and more, all available for purchase via donations.

“This is a passion project for our team,” said Chris Fernandez, creative, SVP at A&G. “Not only did we have a great time cooking this up - literally - but it’s proved the difference we can make when we put our creativity to work to solve problems in our community.”
