AMV BBDO has promoted global managing partner, Nick Andrew, to managing director. Reporting to CEO Xavier Rees, Nick will play a key role in helping shape the agency for the future, with responsibility for agency culture and integration across departments.
Working at the heart of the leadership ream, alongside his existing business leadership responsibilities, he will focus on creating an environment where people can do their best work, develop their careers and thrive, ensuring the agency remains a destination for outstanding talent and creativity.
Nick has spent more than 17 years at AMV BBDO, building a reputation as a highly respected business leader and champion of creative excellence. He has led the Guinness business for the past 7.5 years, creating breakthrough creative work that drives real-world business results.
During this time, Guinness became the #1 selling beer in GB for the first time in its history and was awarded two 2024 IPA Awards including a Gold and The President’s Prize for Next Generation Brand Building.
This year Nick led the agency’s successful Baileys pitch – it is the first spirits brand that AMV has partnered with Diageo on. Nick also leads the Currys, Smart Energy, and World Gold Council business.
Nick previously led AMV BBDO's account management department for four years, where he focused on developing talent and strengthening the discipline across the agency, including guiding teams through the challenges of the pandemic.
His passion for developing people remains central to his leadership approach, alongside a commitment to creating the conditions for creativity to flourish, ensuring great ideas are translated into outstanding work that delivers results for clients.
Nick has also completed The Marketing Academy's intensive year-long leadership programme, an experience he credits with broadening his perspective on leadership and helping shape his approach to building stronger teams and agency culture.
Nick Andrew says, “I'm hugely appreciative to Xav and Katy for giving me the opportunity to shape the next chapter of an agency I love. My focus in on creating the conditions for both our people and our work to flourish, now and in the future.”
Xavier Rees says: “Nick’s track record speaks for itself. Highly effective, highly creative work for clients who love working with him; plus a deep love and understanding of how the agency lives and breathes. I’m confident Nick will craft a company culture that ensures a successful next chapter for AMV BBDO.”
