In a world where AI can generate endless content in seconds, truly original thinking is becoming increasingly rare. Yet, there is still one place it thrives: in the pure wonder and imagination of a child.
That contrast sparked the latest edition of Technolidays, Team One’s long-running annual tradition where employees use emerging technology to experiment with new forms of holiday storytelling. This year, a creative team expanded the tradition with The One-derland Workshop, celebrating the greatest original thinkers and transforming children’s drawings into custom holiday ornaments and even animated videos.
To bring the idea to life, the team invited children (age 10 and under) within the agency’s extended community (friends, family, clients, and brand partners) to submit a drawing of a new, magical holiday creature. From there, the Workshop gets to work: scanning each drawing, converting it into a 3D file, and producing a physical one-of-one keepsake ornament.
Each ornament will be packaged and mailed with a unique QR code, linking to a personalised page where families can see their creature in 3D and hear a short story inspired by the child’s answers and narrated in the creature’s AI-generated voice.
“This project has been an inspiring exploration into creativity and bringing ideas to life,” said Jason Lockyer, creative director, Team One. “We combined one of the oldest technologies, drawing, and brought it to life with one of the newest, AI.”
