Richard Packer on Launching Packer Productions and Championing Emerging Talent

Richard Packer has spent the last decade and a half shaping careers, winning awards, and building a reputation for spotting and nurturing talent. Now, the former managing director of Outsider is stepping into a new chapter with the launch of Packer Productions.

“I realised I wanted a bit of change,” Packer tells LBB’s Olivia Atkins. “A chance to simplify, focus on what I enjoy, and maybe have a bit more fun.”

The new company revolves around a compact, high-calibre roster of directors, many with agency or writing backgrounds, and a shared love of American comedy, a genre Packer has championed since his early career.
