I wanted to spotlight artists who I feel are finding thoughtful, creative ways to mix their musical and cultural heritage into new, forward thinking sounds. The fusion of R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Soul in 2025 has been exciting to witness, with artists like dexter in the newsagent, Daniel Caesar, and Dijon really standing out to me.

What they’re creating feels both familiar and entirely new. You might hear echoes of what’s come before, but it’s the way their influences, lived experiences, and perspectives come together that makes the music feel so fresh.
