Nimiopere Taps Film Editor Hubert Hayaud to Global Roster
Nimiopere has added acclaimed editor Hubert Hayaud to its global roster, whose work bridges fiction, documentary, and commercial storytelling with a distinctive, deeply human touch.
Born in France and based in Montréal for the past twenty-five years, Hubert is a graduate of cinema studies in Paris. His editing has been featured at major international festivals including Venice, TIFF, Karlovy Vary, Hot Docs, and Visions du Réel. Recent credits include The Man I Left Behind (2024), co-edited with Magnum photographer Larry Towell, which premiered at Visions du Réel.
Reflecting on this new chapter, Hubert Hayaud shared, “I’ve known Graham Chisholm for about twenty-five years, back from our days editing music videos in Montréal. I’ve followed his career and the creation of Nimiopere with great admiration, so joining the team now feels exciting and invigorating — a way to renew myself and keep growing. Working within this group means sharing ideas and exchanging honest feedback with people you respect. Being represented by Nimiopere is also an opportunity to meet new collaborators and broaden my creative influence.

Alongside his editing career, Hubert pursues documentary photography rooted in reportage and social observation. His work has been published in Le Monde, The Guardian, Libération, Géo, Le Devoir, Leica Fotografie International, and The New York Times.
