TBWA\Singapore ushers in a new era of phygital concerts with Bandwagon Labs' latest event at Marina Bay Sands

VGIG, Singapore’s next-generation music metaverse platform, invited fans to experience The Sonic Garden Concert on 4th December 2025 at the Marina Bay Sands. A phygital music concert ushering in a new chapter of live events where the physical and virtual worlds come together for fans like never before.

VGIG is developed by Bandwagon Labs and co-produced with Bandwagon Live and Marina Bay Sands MICE production team. This is the second of four innovative pilot experiences under National Arts Council (NAC)’s Project Arts Metaverse (PAM) initiative, supported by innovation counsel TBWA\Singapore.

TBWA\Singapore’s project management and innovation team has been involved from inception to launch, collaborating closely with partners from early visioning and proposal development to solution refinement and live execution as part of the PAMinitiative.

PAM is an industry-led Alliance for Action (AfA) by NAC and its stakeholders to develop innovative virtual experiences that unlock new opportunities for audience engagement and arts discovery. VGIG exemplifies this innovative approach, demonstrating how creative technology can make the arts more engaging and accessible while enabling artists to build capabilities and confidence in the digital realm and explore new platforms to connect with diverse audiences.

Designed and developed as an immersive platform, VGIG brings fans closer to the music and artists they love through interactive digital experiences. The Sonic Garden Concert marks VGIG’s inaugural event, drawing inspiration from Singapore’s Garden City identity and celebrating the growth and creativity of local musicians. The concert features three of Singapore’s most exciting artists - Shye, Glenn Yong, and WhyLucas - who will perform live on stage and appear as digital avatars on VGIG. The event will welcome 500 invited guests and VIPs at Marina Bay Sands, while fans worldwide can join concurrently via the VGIG metaverse.

Instead of traditional ticketing, fans can unlock access to the concert by purchasing VGIG Digital Collectible Packs at S$5.99. Each pack includes:

🎫 A chance to unlock a concert ticket

🖼️ A digital photocard of their favourite artist, which can be redeemed for a physical version and collected on the concert day

👕 An exclusive avatar wearable for use inside the VGIG metaverse

This innovative system reimagines concert merchandise and trading cards for today’s digital age, offering fans a new way to collect, own, and flex their fandom digitally and in real life.

From digital to physical photocards

TBWA\Singapore’s continued involvement across the PAM portfolio underscores its commitment to driving innovation in the creative industries, supporting the NAC’s Our SG Arts Plan (2023 – 2027) vision for cross-sector collaboration and the exploration of new technology-driven opportunities.

This project follows TBWA’s earlier support on the SRT Macbeth on Roblox metaverse experience, reinforcing the agency’s position as a trusted partner for pioneering digital and hybrid experiences in Singapore’s evolving arts landscape.

Melissa Daniels, head of innovation, TBWA\Asia and TBWA\Singapore said, “Project Arts Metaverse is about pushing boundaries and reimagining how technology and the arts can converge to create new experiences. Our partnership with NAC and Bandwagon Labs on VGIG is a testament to the power of creative collaboration and the role agencies can play in enabling digital transformation for the arts sector.”

Clarence Chan, founder and CEO, Bandwagon / Bandwagon Labs said, “Bandwagon has always believed in innovating for fans and artists. We’ve experimented with concerts in new spaces, brought live shows into the virtual world during Covid, and now we’re helping local artists unlock new digital IPs and revenue streams. VGIG is a bold step forward in fan engagement. We’re glad to have Marina Bay Sands as a partner and honoured to be selected by the National Arts Council for this important arts-and-tech initiative.”

Genevieve Lim, assistant vice president of sales and MICE, Marina Bay Sands said, “We are proud to champion the homegrown music scene through VGIG, which mirrors our vision of extending physical venues into the metaverse to enhance guest experiences. This complements our initiatives such as I PLAY SG Music, where local music forms the default soundtrack across our property. Just as our virtual meetings environment adds immersive layers to live events, VGIG reimagines how fans and artists connect through gamification - transforming passive viewing into active participation.”
