CantSee, in collaboration with 42 Branded and Marshall Street Editors, has unveiled ‘Life at the Almhof’

Award-winning creative agency CantSee, in collaboration with 42 Branded and Marshall Street Editors, has unveiled ‘Life at the Almhof’ - a four-part micro-series written and directed by Jasper Cable-Alexander, and creatively produced by Ash Horne.

The series offers an intimate, cinematic portrait of the Hotel Almhof Schneider, an iconic family-run retreat nestled deep within the Austrian mountains. Commissioned by the Schneider family, the project set out to attract new talent by authentically portraying the hotel’s unique spirit and the people who bring it to life.

“It was never about selling the hotel,” explained Jasper. “It was about celebrating the people who make it what it is.”

Each episode in ‘Life at the Almhof’ focuses on a different member of the hotel’s team, from the chef and cleaner to the glass polisher and the wider staff capturing their distinct personalities, passions, and the quiet beauty of their daily routines.

“I wanted to create a love letter to the people who bring the hotel to life,” said Jasper. “The glass polisher, for instance, a huge, muscled guy who’s into kickboxing but spends his day delicately polishing the thinnest glasses. It’s this surreal poetry of everyday life that fascinated me.”

The film blends documentary authenticity with a touch of playful imagination, reflecting both Jasper’s signature storytelling style and the hotel’s deeply personal character.

For CantSee, the challenge was to translate Almhof's ethos into something emotionally resonant and true. “We wanted to show what makes this place so special, not the luxury, but the people,” said Ash. “After working there, I’m never staying anywhere else.”

The result is an affectionate, visually rich series that captures not just a workplace, but a world defined by craftsmanship, community, and quiet beauty.

The mini series leads with ‘Chef’ followed by a set of films over the coming weeks.

‘Life at the Almhof’ is a production by 42 Branded, edited by Marshall Street Editors, and created by CantSee. Jasper Cable-Alexander is repped by DROOL Productions in the UK.
