Hanson Dodge Wants to Remind Dog Owners to Leash Their Pets in Public Spaces

Hanson Dodge is a dog-friendly/dog-encouraged agency located in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. Building on this love of pets, and as part of HD's involvement with the community, Hanson Dodge developed a playful reminder to encourage dog owners to keep their four-legged companions leashed in public spaces. Existing pedestrian walking signs were reimagined with subtle, unexpected additions that shift the message in a lighthearted way.

The signs have been installed in various dog-friendly locations throughout the Historic Third Ward. Each one includes a QR code for more information and the hashtag #LeashUp, inviting passers by to join the conversation and show how they walk their pups responsibly.

Back at the agency, a shared “dog calendar” allows employees to sign up for the days they plan to bring their dogs to the office, so everyone knows which canine co-workers will be on-site. Monday morning all-staff meetings even conclude with rotating photos of employees’ dogs, celebrating the pups that help make the workplace feel welcoming and warm.
