Gay Lea Foods Co-operative Limited’s has launched its newest product launch: chocolate whipped cream in campaign from FUSE Create.
The inspiration behind the spot was to illustrate how sweet things can be integrated in one’s everyday life simply - because treating yourself doesn’t need candlelight and couture, just a spoon and a can!
Everything from the set location to the outfits screamed luxury; we open in a lavish living room of an apartment with orchestral music playing in the background. We cut to between dreamy, soft-focused, slow-panning shots of our lead actress draped elegantly on a chaise lounge. We see the elegance of the room, her dress, hair, and earrings.
Then, we cut to her in her real kitchen, a less extravagant but still aspirational room. She’s now wearing trendy athleisure wear, she's still holding the spoon and can, and we see her enjoy the treat. The contrast between the high fashion “treat for the senses” scenes and the relaxed kitchen scene underscores that sweet indulgence doesn’t need to be grandiose or fancy, it’s for everyday moments, and those moments are the kind we can’t wait to return to.
FUSE Create led the campaign strategy and creative ideation, with the video appearing via OLV, TV, and social media. It was directed by Emma Higgins from the production company Fela.
Erin Matier, Dairy Business Unit, said, “At Gay Lea, we believe in bringing small moments of fun to Canadians’ everyday lives. Our new chocolate whipped cream does exactly that — it’s a reminder that you can find sweetness in the simple things.”
