Toronto based Darling VFX continues to bolster its creative ranks with the addition of two senior artists - Andrew Rolfe and Jon Hutton - further strengthening the studio’s VFX, design and CG capabilities.
Andrew Rolfe joins Darling as senior VFX artist, bringing with him 18 years of experience spanning high-end compositing, finishing, and complex visual effects work. Andrew’s meticulous eye and technical precision have made him a trusted collaborator for agencies, editors and directors alike. His arrival also marks a reunion with Darling VFX artists, Paul Binney and Steve McGregor, with whom he’s previously collaborated - a reunion that promises to reignite a well‑established creative chemistry.
Jon Hutton joins the CG department as senior motion graphics artist, where he will work closely alongside artist Lev Bravo. Jon brings 15 years of experience in design, and animation, with an additional expertise in CG character animation. His blend of technical mastery and creative storytelling complements Lev’s design-led approach, creating a powerful balance within Darling’s expanding CG team.
“Having Andrew and Jon join us has been energising,” says Paul Binney, partner and lead VFX artist at Darling VFX. “Both bring years of experience, craft, and passion to what they do. Andrew’s finesse, storytelling instincts and ability for creative problem solving strengthen our VFX department, while Jon’s creativity in character-driven projects takes our CG work to the next level.”
The arrival of Andrew and Jon marks a continued period of growth for Darling VFX, underscoring its commitment to investing in top-tier talent, expanding its creative offering and building on a foundation of collaboration, artistry, and innovation that continues to define the studio’s work.
