In 2023, the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking launched a national campaign focused on labour trafficking and worker rights. Our team at Hotspex Media was honoured to support the campaign, leading the media planning and buying to help the message reach the right people and connect them with vital resources.

Human trafficking in Canada often exists in the shadows. Many of the people affected are hidden in plain sight, facing exploitation while the world around them carries on. Misunderstandings and myths make it easy to look the other way. But each victim’s experience is real and urgent, touching families, communities, and workplaces. Education and awareness are the first steps toward shining a light on their reality and ensuring they can access help and hope.

In response to this urgent need, the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking launched the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline in May 2019. This confidential, multilingual, and trauma informed service operates year round, connecting anyone impacted by trafficking with vital information, resources, and support. Since its launch, the hotline has received nearly 23,000 calls from people seeking help or guidance.

In 2023, the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking launched a national campaign focused on labour trafficking and worker rights. Our team at Hotspex Media was honoured to help bring this campaign to life by leading the media planning and buying. We worked to ensure the campaign reached the right audiences in the right places, amplifying its message and connecting people with vital resources.

The results were powerful. Following the campaign, labour trafficking cases identified by the hotline rose by 317%, highlighting the real-world impact of awareness.

For our team, this project was more than a media buy. It was a reminder that media can do more than deliver impressions or clicks. Media can inform, empower, and protect. It can shine a light on hidden issues and help create meaningful change.

We are proud to support the Centre and its critical work. We hope this day encourages everyone to stay informed, share knowledge, and help ensure that anyone facing exploitation in Canada knows there is support available.
