Mama Hungara Live - the new live performance division of the audio visual production company Mama Hungara - closes the year with an exceptional balance for Ciclo Aura, its programme dedicated to international vocal excellence and developed in partnership with Elisa Wagner ICP. Presented entirely at Teatro Colón, the series established itself from its inaugural edition as a reference point in Argentina’s vocal music scene, creating a new meeting place between world-class voices and local audiences.

A debut season that exceeded expectations

The 2025 season brought together Jonathan Tetelman, Aigul Akhmetshina, Elīna Garanča and Nadine Sierra – four of today’s leading operatic figures – who filled Teatro Colón with standing ovations and unanimous critical praise. The audience’s response, enthusiastic, diverse and deeply engaged, reaffirmed the guiding principle of the cycle: to renew the bond with live vocal performance and open the doors of grand opera to new generations.

At its core, Aura is driven by a simple yet powerful conviction: one does not need formal knowledge to be moved by a great voice.

As Mariano Nante, executive producer of Mama Hungara Live, explains, “Vocal experience belongs to the universal heritage. All it takes is an authentic voice, a space like the Colón and a receptive audience for something unforgettable to happen.”

Aura: an encounter with the ineffable

The name of the cycle draws from the concept of 'aura': that unique and spiritual quality that manifests through certain presences – people, objects or spaces – and that, in this case, gains its full expression in the live experience. Each concert reflected this subtle dimension, enhanced by the atmosphere of Teatro Colón, one of the finest acoustic halls in the world.

The interplay of unamplified voice, stage presence, an engaged audience and a space steeped in history produced moments of singular intensity, forging a deeply emotional connection with those in attendance.

A strategic commitment from Mama Hungara Live

Ciclo Aura stands as the first major annual platform of Mama Hungara Live, the division created to expand the company’s reach into live entertainment, music performance and interdisciplinary cultural projects.

Its aim is clear: to broaden the territories where artistic excellence, narrative and sensibility meet. The cycle not only diversifies Mama Hungara’s creative path but also strengthens a bridge between the audio visual world, live performance and artistic curation.

Mariano Nante and Lisandro Ramos, who lead the project and the entire Mama Hungara Live initiative, add, “We succeeded in establishing a cycle that was both a critical and audience triumph. The emotional exchanges between each artist and the public were truly unique, and all four expressed deep gratitude towards an Argentine audience they describe as warm, knowledgeable and profoundly connected to music. Seeing a full house each night, with standing ovations and generous encores, encourages us to envision a long-term future for Aura –one built on a curatorial approach that excites and moves our audiences. We must also highlight Teatro Colón’s collaboration: they opened their doors, understood the value of the project and allowed us to work in truly ideal conditions.”

The mission for 2026 is to consolidate Aura as a symbol of artistic excellence across the region.

Star tenor Jonathan Tetelman inaugurated the cycle alongside Cuban-Mexican pianist Ángel Rodríguez.

Mama Hungara Live also broadened its interdisciplinary footprint through FUTCON –another key pillar of MH Live– the world’s first festival dedicated to the intersection of football and creativity, held on 22–23 November at Ciudad Cultural Konex. The event connected the brand with contemporary music scenes, featuring appearances by Bandalos Chinos and Conociendo Rusia, thus expanding its presence beyond classical music and strengthening its role within new cultural territories.
