Magna Studios has unveiled its latest branded short film for World of Tanks, ‘Holiday Ops 2026’, starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
Written and directed by Nez Khammal, the film tells the story of Sebastian, a shy office worker played by Robert Emms, who finds an unexpected ally in a witty, slightly eccentric therapist played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Blending comedy, heart, and a dose of festive chaos, ‘Holiday Ops 2026’ turns self-improvement into an adventure.
The short film continues Nez’s creative partnership with World of Tanks and launched as part of World of Tanks’ global ‘Holiday Ops’ event. Magna Studios led production end-to-end, bringing together a world-class team across casting, design, post-production and original score.
“I’m thrilled to be part of World of Tanks’ Holiday Ops this year. It’s a game that celebrates strategy, teamwork, and thinking a few steps ahead. I really enjoyed collaborating with the team and bringing a new flavour to that world - along with a bit of festive spirit. Wishing all the players a fantastic holiday season,” said Benedict Cumberbatch.
“It was brilliant collaborating with World of Tanks for a second year. Their approach to creativity sits much closer to the film world than typical advertising, which gave me room to focus on narrative in a way you don’t often get in this space. I also think A-list actors love what they do- that’s why they’re A-list. If you hand them a script that feels closer to the work they truly enjoy, you get genuine collaboration,” said Nez Khammal.
