BETC Appoints Hugo Ghiglia as Managing Director

Hugo Ghiglia began his career in planning at BETC Digital before joining Leg, Grey Paris and Conran Design

BETC has appointed Hugo Ghiglia as managing director and head of new business for all its entities and across all geographies.

He thus takes the lead of the collegial organisation One New Business. This structure brings together more than 30 new business talents around the world and represents all of BETC’s generalist and specialist entities. Access to expertise — brand strategy, corporate, design, advertising, social media, platforms, digital, CX, CRM, production — on all continents is made through this unified new business entry point, whether for a pitch or a simple consultation.

He will carry out his mission alongside Stéphane Xiberras and Bertille Toledano, CEOs of the agency.

He succeeds Catherine Emprin in this role. The renewal of the leadership at the head of the One New Business organisation comes at a time when pooling the group’s strengths and expertise is more essential than ever: to accelerate the agency’s global approach, but also to ensure an integrated and coherent vision from the very first contact. BETC thus aims to further accelerate its growth across all areas of expertise and geographies, starting with Europe but also in the United States, Asia and the Middle East.

“Taking over the direction of BETC’s New Business, following Catherine Emprin, whom I sincerely thank for everything she has taught and passed on to me, is both an honour and a tremendous responsibility. It means embodying a culture of development that has driven the agency’s success, first in France and then internationally,” explained Hugo Ghiglia.

A graduate of Sciences Po Paris, Hugo began his career in planning at BETC Digital before joining Leg, Grey Paris and Conran Design. Returning to BETC in 2017, he has continued the work of Catherine Emprin, promoting a new business culture characterised by a strong and distinctive strategic vision from the very first contact with brands. This approach is not limited to new business, as he regularly contributes to agency projects recognised by major international awards, such as Et le Buuuuud for Budweiser or The Freedom Edition for Society & Reporters without Borders, in recent years.
